Project for developing the abandoned old factory of Nazareno Gabrielli, located in Tolentino, in the heart of the Marche region inside the province of Macerata. The hotel houses 30 rooms inspired by various 20th century designers for a global outlook of renovating the historic villa and the surrounding park, both of them are preserved for national laws, according to a process of transformation of the building into a hotel-museum. The project, desired and promoted by the entrepreneur Franco Moschini (Moschini S.p.A.), former President of Poltrona Frau, led to the restoration of a historic building through a complex process which focuses on contemporary architecture. The rooms welcome more than 400 elements including furniture, installations and artwork designed by iconic artists of Italian Design such as Michele De Lucchi, Gae Aulenti, Gio Ponti, Castiglioni, Lissoni, Cerri etc. who have designed for Poltrona Frau and other companies like Cassina, Cappelllini, Gebruder, Thonet, Gufram. The hotel also has some rooms dedicated to the artistic movements (Vienna Secession, Arts & Crafts, Pop, Modern Movement). The final result, far from simple visual and tactile description, represents a philological and critical work of high level.
The first project in the world with the simultaneous application of the rating systems GBC Historic Building (first Platinum level) and LEED v4 BD+C for Hospitality (first LEED Hospitality Platinum level in Italy). The team has provided a holistic approach to sustainability architecture, from the preliminary stages of project, adopting a model of innovative design for a building restoration during the post-earthquake Central Italy 2016 reconstruction. The hospitality project, born from cultural purposes, tells the history of Italian and international design of the last 60 years by proposing a new design model through the valorization of the national historical heritage. The building has two awards according to the rating systems LEED (Platinum level with 87 points) and GBC Historic Building (95 points). Both standards are adopted on a voluntary basis: the first one certifies the level of sustainability according to design and implementation practices based on the energy performance and environmental footprint of a building; the second one promotes compliance with the same requirements with an approach intended to enhance historical value and architectural restoration according to conservation, requalification, recovery and integration of historic buildings.
